About Ensō in three lengths

One sentence

Ensō is a native Jellyfin client for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV that plays your files itself, keeps downloads for offline viewing and puts parental controls in your hands.

Short

Ensō is a Jellyfin client built for Apple devices. Its playback engine opens MKV and other formats on the device, so the server does not have to transcode what the device can handle itself. Downloads work offline and carry on after the app was closed. Several accounts and servers live side by side, parental controls limit titles by age rating, and the app speaks 73 languages. There are no analytics, no advertising and no accounts with us.

Long

Ensō is a native Jellyfin client for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, with a companion app for Apple Watch. It was made for people who run their own media server and want the app on their devices to be as good as the server. Ensō plays files as they are, keeps the original file or a smaller copy for offline viewing, prepares the next episode in the background, and lets every member of the household have their own account with their own libraries, resume points and downloads.

Ensō is developed independently and is not affiliated with the Jellyfin project. It needs a Jellyfin server run by you or by someone you know and brings no content of its own. It is coming to the App Store; the price will be announced before launch. The details are on the pages about direct play, offline downloads and accounts and servers.
